Abstract Submission
Regular abstract submission for the 16th International Congress is closed as of January 6, 2012 at 11:59 PM CST.
Notification
Presenting authors will be notified via e-mail of abstract acceptance in late March 2012. If you have not received notification by March 25, 2012, please contact Marathon Multimedia Technical Support.
Official MDS notification letters will be available through the abstract submission site in late March 2012. Once final decisions have been made by the Committee, presenting authors will receive an email which will instruct how to access their notification letter. Presenting authors can then download and print their notification letter(s) at their convenience through the International Congress meeting dates.
Publication
All abstracts accepted for presentation will be published in an electronic supplement to the Movement Disorders journal, in the online edition.
Abstract Presentation
All abstracts will be considered for poster presentation during designated times of the MDS Congress. Poster Sessions allow the review of a poster illustration of your abstract.
Daily poster presentations will be made Monday, June 18 through Thursday, June 21 with a possible additional session on Sunday, June 17. A detailed schedule will be sent to all poster presenters with their notification letter in regards to the date and time they will be required to present their poster and research.
Late-Breaking Abstract Submission
At this time, The Movement Disorder Society invites MDS Members and non-members to submit a Late-Breaking Abstract for review for the 16th International Congress.
A Late-Breaking Abstract is any abstract reporting information that became available for public dissemination after the deadline of the regular abstract submission. It must be of critical importance to the clinical and/or scientific community and/or the public and should be newsworthy.
The Late-Breaking Abstract program is not designed to favor investigators who inadvertently missed the deadline for the regular abstract submission. Furthermore, abstracts reporting results based on small size series, because of their usual questionable power, are discouraged as Late-Breaking Abstract, and abstracts on case reports would be considered only under exceptional circumstances given their inherent anecdotal nature.
To submit a Late-Breaking Abstract, please email your completed abstract to congress@movementdisorders.org by April 2, 2012
There is no fee to submit an abstract. All abstract submissions must be original research.
- Please note that due to a high projected volume of submitted abstracts, poster presentations may begin on Sunday, June 17. This information will not be available until February. You may wish to take this into account when making any travel plans.
- You may be the presenting author on a maximum of 3 abstracts.
- If there is a high volume of submitted abstracts, you may be asked to rank your abstracts in order of preference if submitting more than one abstract. You will be contacted if ranking is indeed necessary.
Abstracts presented at other meetings
Abstracts that have been presented at other meetings may be submitted if they have not been published and if the meeting name and date are cited accordingly.
Deadline
The Late Breaking Abstract submission deadline is Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11:59 PM CST.
Travel
Please do not submit an abstract if you are not prepared to travel to the International Congress and present your research.
